Þann 2. nóvember verður haldið ræktendanámskeið með Patric Ragnarson frá Svíþjóð í húsnæði félagsins. Farið verður yfir pörun, lóðatímabil, meðgöngu, got og fleira sem tengist ræktun. Námskeiðið fer eingöngu fram á ensku. Skráning er hafin á námskeiðið og kostar 18.000 kr. Áætlað er að námskeiðið hefjist kl. 10 og verður boðið upp á léttar veitingar í hádeginu. Skráning fer fram hér í gegnum vefverslun félagsins og það þarf að skrá sig fyrir lok dags 30. október.
Patric Ragnarson er sjálfur ræktandi og FCI dómari á yfir 70 tegundir. Hann hefur unnið í tengslum við heilbrigði dýra í 35 ár, með áhersu á æxlun hunda og katta. Hann hefur m.a. unnið við sænska háskóla dýraspítalann í 20 ár. Fyrirlesturinn fjallar um hvað telst eðlilegt og óeðlilegt fyrir tík á lóðaríi, pörun, meðgöngu og í goti ásamt því að fara yfir ýmislegt sem tengist rökkum í ræktun.

My name is Patric Ragnarson and I’ve been working in the Swedish animal health care for 35 years. I also worked in Florida for 9 months in my early working career. My special topic and special interest is reproduction in dogs and cats.
I’ve been working at the Swedish university animal hospital in Uppsala, which is the only one in Sweden, for 20 years and the last 5 there as the Head of the small animal clinic. During the years there I also had teaching for the veterinarian students. After that I have been working at 2 smaller veterinarian clinics in Östersund, near the Norwegian border and pretty close to Trondheim.
My lecture is about what you can expect as normal and unnormal for the bitch in heat, mating, gestation and whelping. I will also talk about the male genitalia of course etc.
I have had the opportunity to hold lectures several times, also in Finland and in Norway.
In 1999 I became a FCI dog judge and is approved for about 70 breeds. I am also one of the teachers for the Swedish Kennel clubs judge education, and responsible for the SKK central course in anatomy, which is a necessity for the people who is applying for the judge course that they have done it with approved result.
I am really looking forward coming to Iceland, my second visit in your beautiful country, and having the opportunity to hold this lecture for your talented breeders!
